hirta collection

We are currently developing our key collaborative project; ‘the hirta collection – First Edition.

For this we are commissioning hirta-listed designers to step out of their usual medium and work with those experienced in another field of design or manufacture to design a ‘hirta collection’ product.

We hope this will be fun and spur new creative partnerships in Scottish Design.

 

hirta guild

To provide a richer culture to support and encourage good design to flourish we will be holding hirta guild events and conversations.

These aim to bring designers, makers and manufacturers together to stimulate and joint working and be inspired.

These will include talks and debates focussed on what can happen to promote and encourage good Scottish Design and how we can enable it. We wish to determine the content and direction of events in conversation with hirta promoted designers.

These will be free or modestly priced to cover others costs and we would be delighted to have your ideas for locations and content.

hirta Berlin

Following the success of our two Scottish exhibitions held during 2016, we are currently planning our next pop-up exhibition in Berlin during autumn 2017. Following an exploratary trip to Berlin during January 2017, we plan to hold our pop-up in a shop unit in central Berlin using the hirta structure externally to sign post the event. At present we have 30 exhibitors from the hirta website who wish to exhibit.
